The Caucasus Investment Exhibition has presented the event’s business programme, which includes sessions and roundtables. The exhibition will be held on 3-4 May 2023 at the MinvodyExpo Multifunctional Exhibition Centre in the city of Mineralnye Vody. The official opening day of the exhibition is 2 May.

The business programme will feature a discussion of a wide range of issues concerning priorities for the economic development of the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District, including energy, industry, agriculture, tourism, transport, logistics, housing and utility services, human capital development, youth entrepreneurship, territory branding, the digitalization of business processes, and much more.

“The North Caucasus Federal District has unique potential to enhance its economic growth – a young, rapidly growing population, a pleasant climate, fertile soil, and a favourable geographical position. The Caucasus Investment Exhibition will showcase these opportunities and create an impetus that will take the economies of the regions to a new level,” said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who is in charge of the development of the North Caucasus Federal District in the Russian government.

The exhibition will kick off on the opening day on 2 May. The following Russian regions will have booths at the exhibition: the Republic of Dagestan, Republic of Chechnya, Republic of Ingushetia, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, Stavropol Territory, as well as the Republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The booth of the Northern Caucasus Resorts Development Institution will occupy the central area of the exhibition. It will present plans for the further development of North Caucasus resorts and key investment projects in the macro-region. More than a dozen agreements with financial institutions, residents of special economic zones, SMEs, and public organizations are expected to be signed at the booth.

The booth design reflects the concept of the ‘Caucasus from Sea to Sea’, where geographical and historical sites will be easily recognizable for visitors and convey the flavour of each republic, while simultaneously demonstrating the unity of all regions of the North Caucasus Federal District. Roundtables and sessions will address such issues as transport and logistics, agribusiness, digitalization, housing and utility services, economic prospects for the industries of the North Caucasus Federal District, and the branding of territories.

On 3 May, the business programme will focus on viticulture and winemaking, tourism, and the role of the North-South International Transport Corridor in the region’s economic development. Issues to be discussed include workforce capacity, the use of financial instruments in the North Caucasus Federal District, and investment opportunities in the region. A ceremony will be held to cancel a postage stamp dedicated to the resorts of the Caucasus’ Mineralnye Vody and the series of ‘Resorts of the North Caucasus’ stamps.

The final day, 4 May, will feature discussions about youth policy, entrepreneurship, and start-ups.

The key events of the Caucasus Investment Exhibition will be the plenary session, which is titled ‘Economic Potential of the North Caucasus Federal District. The Role of Investments in Developing the Macroregion’, and a meeting of the Government Commission on Socioeconomic Development on 3 May, which will be attended by Novak.

The Caucasus Investment Exhibition aims to develop regions that are part of the North Caucasus Federal District. The event will bring together key investors, initiators of investment projects, development institutions, banks, and the leaders of the North Caucasus regions. New economic proposals and business ideas, as well as current trends and development strategies will be presented.
