On 15–17 July, the city of Grozny in Chechnya will play host to the Caucasus Investment Forum. One of the most anticipated events at the Forum is its Youth Programme. The Organizing Committee has put together a jam-packed three days for the young people attending the Forum 2024. More than 1,000 students from across Russia will take part in the event. “In terms of its size, the youth part of the Caucasus Investment Forum is in no way inferior to the main business programme. There will be three days of discussions on topics on the youth agenda: career development, self-actualization, creativity, etc. Students will have the opportunity to talk to business leaders who will share their experience and offer advice on further self-realization. In effect, the Caucasus Investment Forum is a venue for investing in our future – in the youth of Russia,” noted Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Caucasus Investment Forum Organizing Committee Alexander Novak.
The Youth Programme will be made up of two thematic blocks. The first is a deep dive into four creative and in-demand professional areas: the development of spaces and territories; the media; robotics; and entrepreneurship. Forum participants will be asked beforehand which of the creative laboratories they wish to attend. At the event, the students will be given a short theoretical overview of the subject, after which they will have the opportunity to apply this newly acquired knowledge in practice. They will then present the results of this practical work to a jury on the final day of the Caucasus Investment Forum. The most promising projects will receive awards. Students who take part in this block have undergone a competitive selection process under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
The second block of the Youth Programme is larger in scope and is dedicated to discussions on the development of entrepreneurship, social initiatives, personal growth, and self-realization. The discussions will take part in the form of round tables and panel events. Speakers will include professionals in their chosen fields – entrepreneurs, journalists, celebrities, and athletes who will talk about their experiences and share their secrets to success. The event will wrap up with the youth plenary session.
The Caucasus Investment Forum is an effective platform for cooperation between business and government that aims to improve the investment climate in Russia and develop a system of public-private partnerships at the regional level. The programme architecture is designed in such a way as to promote active interaction between government officials and business communities that furthers the discussion of current issues and includes project presentations, negotiations, and the signing of business agreements.
The Caucasus Investment Forum will also include a presentation by the Roscongress Foundation of its ecosystem of social, educational and youth projects, as well as its ‘Country’s Human Potential’ initiatives. The projects are aimed at developing Russia’s human resource potential, establishing an inclusive society, developing a system of accessible education, career counselling and adaptation for young people, and making the process of finding and hiring talented specialists more effective.
The ecosystem includes the School Friend social project, which helps children and teenagers who are experiencing hardships to better integrate into their social surroundings, and also offers assistance to help prepare for exams; the RC Skills inclusive project, which opens up new employment opportunities for people with disabilities; the ‘Hunter’s Day’ career project, which aims to create a pool of young specialists to resolve manpower shortage problems in Russia’s regions; ‘Country’s Human Potential’ – an intellectual platform for career guidance; and RC-Commonwealth, which promotes Roscongress Foundation initiatives in the CIS countries, as well as other projects (projects.roscongress.org).
‘Country’s Human Potential: Careers’ is a new project in the ecosystem where leading Russian companies offer career opportunities for young professionals who do not yet have any relevant work experience, including young people with disabilities. The project’s knowledge base is constantly updated with vacancies and internships from companies that take part in Roscongress Foundation events and operates in the form of an easy-to-use chat bot. Participants in the Youth Day events at the Caucasus Investment Forum will be able to access the project’s capabilities database using special touch panels.
The inaugural Caucasus Investment Forum was held in Mineralnye Vody in April 2023 and was actually an exhibition, rather than a forum, and was received positively by the business community and representatives of the executive authorities. The Forum was officially made an annual event by Decree No. 697 of the President of the Russian Federation “On the Caucasus Investment Forum” dated 18 September 2023.
The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
