The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs received the heads and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions to the Russian Federation from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Iraq, the State of Kuwait, the Lebanese Republic, the Kingdom of Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia among others to present the Caucasus Investment Forum as an opportunity for international co-operation in investment and intercultural communications.

“The global economy is currently undergoing a fundamental and irreversible transformation before our very eyes. Our countries must learn to adapt to these changes and build alternative mechanisms of international co-operation. Russia’s North Caucasus Federal District has an important role to play in the structural reorganization of our foreign economic relations, and the country’s leadership is particularly interested in its development’, Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Dmitry Birichevsky told participants.

Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sergey Nazarov noted that the Caucasus Investment Forum was an excellent opportunity to work together with existing international partners and attract new ones for joint projects. “The geostrategic importance of the North Caucasus Federal District to our country can’t be overstated. The amount of cargo that flows through it along important transport arteries and connects us to the rest of the world is significant. We are talking about the West–East transport corridor and the new one travelling North–South. The North Caucasus is also strategically important to Russia in terms of priority industries that affect the economy of the North Caucasus Federal District, such as tourism, the agribusiness, agriculture, industry, and transport,” Nazarov said.

The Forum is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation. Roscongress Deputy CEO Vladimir Zatynaiko spoke about the previous event, the architecture of the 2024 business programme, and the interesting things that await guests at the Forum.

“This year’s Caucasus Investment Forum will be held in Grozny. I would like to highlight the fact that the Residence of Chechen Head Ramzan Kadyrov will open its doors for the first time ever to Forum participants! Such warmth and hospitality demand special respect and lay even greater responsibility on us organizers. Our main goal is to see the Caucasus Investment Forum grow into a platform where government and business can interact effectively and Russia’s regions can grow their investment potential. It should be known that there is no limit to what the Caucasus Investment Forum can do to find investors, investment projects, and public-private partnership projects. Last year, more than 50 agreements worth over RUB 150 billion were signed at the event, and we have every reason to believe this year will be even more impressive,” Vladimir Zatynaiko said.

The Caucasus Investment Forum is planned for 15–17 July in Grozny. The Forum will bring together leading experts from a variety of industries, opinion leaders, entrepreneurs, and foreign delegations and will focus on developing entrepreneurship and the agro-industrial complex, transport infrastructure, industry, energy, the banking sector, international cooperation, health care, and the humanitarian agenda. For the first time ever, in addition to the regular business programme, the Forum will be hosting the Apex Prize Investment Award, which exists to recognize those contributing to the economic growth and investment potential of Russia’s regions in 11 nominations in innovation, healthcare, education, small and medium-sized business, tourism, and agriculture. The youth agenda will occupy a special place in this year’s business programme. Over the course of three days, students from all over Russia will take part in educational laboratories and panel discussions and rub shoulders with well-known businessmen, journalists, and cultural and sports figures.
