The sports programme of the Caucasus Investment Forum includes a horse racing event with leading jockeys, an MMA night, and meetings between famed athletes and young people of the North Caucasus Federal District.
“The CIF 2024 sports programme reflects the region's preferences and traditions. High-profile, spectacular horse racing and an MMA night will have the format of evening sports and social events. I would like to stress that sports have always played a major role in the development and promotion of the North Caucasus Region. The European Championship in Kaspiysk, the World Cup in Vladikavkaz, and match encounters between Russian and US national teams in Gudermes and Nalchik brought together the world’s strongest wrestlers in our region and cultivated a positive public image of the North Caucasus Federal District. As a result, these high-profile tournaments contributed to the region’s investment and tourism appeal while also telling the world about the culture of the peoples of the Caucasus through sports. One central figure of these events, three-time Olympic freestyle wrestling champion Buvaisar Saitiev, will meet with the younger generation at the Forum venue. Further development of the athletics capacity of the North Caucasus and the role of sports in managing the national objectives in the North Caucasus Federal District will be discussed at a special session organised by the Ministry of Sports and the sports platform of the Roscongress Foundation”, said Georgy Bryusov, Director of the Centre for Athletic Training of Russian National Teams and member of the Roscongress Foundation Supervisory Board.
