The first ever Apex Investment Award will be presented at a special ceremony during the Caucasus Investment Forum in Grozny on 15–17 July 2024. A total of 256 applications from 42 Russian regions were submitted for consideration for the award. The event has been organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
The main theme of the Caucasus Investment Forum 2024 is “The Greater Caucasus: From Sea to Sea”. Discussions at the event will focus on the development of the investment potential of the North Caucasian and Southern federal districts, as well as of the CIS countries and the Caspian and Black sea basins. However, this has not stopped other Russian regions from actively competing for the awards. Teams from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tyumen Region, the Chechen Republic, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Stavropol Territory, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, the Republic of Dagestan, the Republic of Adygea, Rostov Region and other regions will be vying for awards. The most popular categories are “Best Investment Youth Startup”, “Best SME Project”, “Best Infrastructure Project”, and “Best Educational Project”.
“One of the key tasks of the Russian government is to create a favourable investment climate. Work is under way at both the federal and regional levels to improve the legislative framework, a set of measures has been developed to support the business environment, business procedures are being simplified, and red tape is being removed. In this respect, it is particularly important to showcase successful investment projects and recognize achievements in regional and sectoral development. And the Apex Investment Award should play a key role in this moving forward. We believe that the competitive nature of the award will allow us to select the most promising investment projects. And the awards themselves will serve as a basis for further improving the investment process in Russia,” noted Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Sergey Nazarov.
The Apex Investment Award will be handed out in 11 categories. Winners and runners-up will have the opportunity to attend the Caucasus Investment Forum. The awards ceremony will be attended by members of government, representatives of foreign delegations, and executives from the biggest Russian and foreign companies.
